The Japanese home video release of Weathering With You from Makoto Shinkai is being handled by TOHO and they’ve set their plans for it. The film saw a release on May 27th, 2020 in three editions and now TOHO is doing some secondary promotion for it with a pair of new commercials highlighting the release. With a couple of regular editions that are the same outside of the dimensions of the package, we now have a look at those releases a well as the full packaging spread for a beautiful 4K collector’s edition.
A regular DVD edition priced at 3,800 yen, a regular edition Blu-ray at 4,800 yen, and a 4K UHD Blu-ray Collector’s Edition priced at 12,000 yen. The sets come with English and Chinese subtitles in addition to the Japanese language options. The CE comes with three bonus discs with one of them being a visual commentary, another with storyboards and a documentary, and the third with interviews.

Shinkai is writing and directing the film based at CoMix Wave Films with Atsushi Tamura serving as the animation director and Masayoshi Tanaka handling the character designs.
The cast includes Kotaro Daiko as Hodaka Morishima and Nana Mori as Hina Amano.
