The fall 2018 anime series Sword Art Online: Alicization began its back half run starting last October as the final two cour are coming under the name War of Underworld. The second half of War of Underworld has been set for an April 25th, 2020 premiere but the COVID-19 pandemic had it reset to its new premiere date of July 11th, 2020. Now, the official site is getting us ready for what’s to come with a new trailer, which can be had via Twitter versions because Aniplex Japan region locks its YouTube videos.

Aniplex USA previously confirmed that Crunchyroll, Funimation, HIDIVE, and Hulu will all be streaming new episodes of the series as simulcasts. Crunchyroll’s availability is for North America, Central America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. HIDIVE has the US and Canada.

Manabu Ono is directing it and A-1 Pictures handling the animation production. Gou Suzuki, Tomoya Nishiguchi, and Shingo Adachi are handling the character designs.

Plot Concept: Kirito awakens in a vast, fantastical forest filled with towering trees. In his search for clues to the truth of his surroundings, he encounters a young boy who seems to know him. He ought to be a simple NPC, but the depth of his emotions seem no different than a human.

As they search for the boy’s parents, Kirito finds a peculiar memory returning to him. A memory from his own childhood, of this boy and a girl, too, with golden hair, and a name he should have never forgotten Alice.
