One of the most recent works from Masaaki Yuasa with Kimi to, Nami ni Noretara, which translates as Ride Your Wave, is getting some new distribution overseas. Kaze Deutschland has revealed that the film will be a part of their Anime Nights theatrical run series with plans for a July 28th, 2020 debut. While no dub is ready for it at this time, one will definitely be coming. But they’ve made the announcement with the Japanese trailer which you can see below.

Yuasa’s directing based on the screenplay from Reiko Yoshida and the film saw a June 21st, 2019 debut in Japan.

Ryota Katayose will play Minato Hinageshi while Rina Kawaei will play Hinako Mikaimizu. This is Katayose’s first acting role but he comes from GENERATIONS from EXILE so there’s definitely some natural performer there.

Plot Concept: Upon entering university, Hinako moves to a coastal town. She loves surfing, and when she’s on the waves she’s fearless, but still feels uncertain about her future. When a fire wreaks havoc in the town, Hinako encounters young firefighter Minato. As they surf and spend more time together, Hinako feels drawn to someone like Minato who devotes himself to helping other people. Hinako also holds a special place in Minato’s heart.
