We’ve been following the details and announcements since November 2019 with the anime adaptation of Monster Girl Doctor and we’re getting closer to it. The series is on track for its summer debut and we learned recently that it has a July 12th, 2020 premiere for it. Now, the official site has dropped in a new quick-hit 15-second TV spot for the show alongside a new 90-second promo that gives us a some new animation to get excited about.
It’s directed by Yoshiaki Iwasaki based on the series composition by Hideki Shirane. Hiroi Kato is handling the character designs with Arvo Animation handling the production.
The series has brought on Saori Inoshi to play Saphentite “Sapphee” Neikes while Shunichi Toki has signed on to play Glenn Leitbeit. Additional casting includes Sarah Emi Bridcutt as Tisaria Scudia, Yukiyo Fujii as Lulala Haine, and Yu Shimamura as Aranya Trantella Alakunida.
The series is adapting the light novels by Yoshino Origuchi with artwork by Z-Ton which began in 2016. The series has seven volumes out with Seven Seas Entertainment releasing them in English.
The opening theme song “Campanella Hibiku Sora de” will be performed by ARCNA Project. The ending theme song “Yasahisa no Namae” will be performed by Aina Suzuki.
Plot Concept: In the town of Lindworm where monsters and humans coexist, Dr. Glenn runs an exemplary medical clinic for monster girls with his lamia assistant, Sapphee. Whether receiving a marriage proposal by a centaur injured in battle, palpating the injury of a mermaid, or suturing the delicate wounds of a flesh golem, Dr. Glenn performs his job with grace and confidence. But when an unsavory character seeks to steal a harpy egg, how will the unflappable Dr. Glenn respond…?
