Originally serialized in Comic Kairakuten from the February 2020 installment, Former Kogal & Ex-Nerd #2 is a twelve-page story from creator Minagiri, who has just over a dozen others works on the service. I had read the first one of this during the early days of the pandemic when I had little else to read and it was a cute romp with some very appealing artwork. So, a second chapter is much appreciated. This isn’t so much a sequel but rather a continuation as the last chapter didn’t really hit things to a finish with our leads of Akiho and Hatano getting it on while witing to be able to get into the dorm itself for the day.
So what we get here is essentially all about the action as it picks up from Hatano unable to control himself with her and cutting loose as she’s pushed him past the edge. He’s worried and apologetic over it but for her it’s just an opportunity to keep things going more as anything else that happens isn’t likely to change things. Of course, it’s just a lot of foolishness that comes from the moment and the heightened needs that both of them are on. It’s pretty vanilla material overall with what the two go through here in just three positions overall for them but there’s a good driving motivation as our pretty inexperienced, if virginal, Hatano is just soaking up the experience itself.
The plus is that the characters look good and they make good use of the situation. Since it’s just a small room where they’re waiting, the simple bench-couch definitely gets good use here and while it doesn’t allow for super creativity or anything it definitely gets used well. And Akiho definitely knows what works for her so she takes advantage of that in guiding Hatano into the right positions for it. The epilogue page is pretty fun as well as we see just how much this is stressing him out a bit, the feeling of “everyone knows” what happened and all, but her offer of more when he’d like is cute and she’s definitely playful about the whole thing.
In Summary
With it serving as the closing half of the previous chapter it just doesn’t work as well as a standalone piece or a standard sequel. It’s all-action except for the last page but only helped by the fact that I remember the first chapter so I know there’s some story material here. And I do read these for the combination of story and character with the actual adult elements because that’s what makes good erotic works. This one has some nice potential to it and it’s going to work best when read together which is a plus for anyone reading it anytime in the future.
