While North American fans can ow the True Tears TV series thanks to the Discotek Media license rescue in the summer of 2016, the streaming for it has increased a lot since then. Now, the folks at RetroCrush are getting it a bit more exposure with the show being added to their service. It’s in its original Japanese language with English subtitles here.

The series is available for streaming on a couple of services and it’s also on Amazon Video section where you can buy episodes in HD for $1.99 each or the whole season for $20.99. The show was part of the winter 2008 season and ran for thirteen episodes and saw release in North America previously through Bandai Entertainment. Bandai Visual brought it out for streaming on Hulu back in 2013. The original series from PA Works was directed by Junji Nishimura based n the series composition from Mari Okada. Yumehito Ueda handled the original character designs while Kanami Sekiguchi adapted them for the show itself.
The Japanese cast includes Ayahi Takagaki as Noe Isurugi, Kaori Nazuka as Hiromi Yuasa, Makoto Ishii as Shinichirō Nakagami and Yuka Iguchi as Aiko Andō.
Plot concept: Shinichiro Nakagami is a high-school boy who lives with his parents and his childhood friend Hiromi who has been taken in by the Nakagami family one year ago. But he wonders why she’s always so reserved at home while she’s so active at school… One day, Shinichiro meets a strange girl – Noe (who has climbed up a tree in the school backyard and is unable to get down). She confesses to him that she has been unable to cry since a specific happening in her childhood…The changes from that day on in Shinichiro’s relation with Hiromi, Noe and his other friends will be depicted in an utmost delicate way, with detailed & beautiful views of their city on the Japan-sea.
