2 min read
The arrival of John, a subversive outsider, in the New World, threatens to disrupt the stability of New London’s utopian society.

In development for some time, the Brave New World series based on the Aldous Huxley novel is getting closer to a debut. With a July 15th, 2020 debut for the Peacock service to a wider audience, they’ve got a few original works that are coming with it and one of those is Brave New World. We had a teaser previously and now a new two-minute full promo has arrived for the property that definitely looks to be a solid summer show.

This one was originally developed at Syfy and was recently set as a straight-to-series order for the USA Network, but it was moved to be a part of the NBCU streaming platform.

This adaptation is being written by David Wiener, Grant Morrison, and Brian Taylor based on the novel for Universal Cable Productions and Amblin Television. Wiener is set to serve as the showrunner on it with Owen Harris directing the first episode.

Plot Concept: As citizens of New London, Bernard Marx and Lenina Crowne have only ever known a rigid social order, a perfect pharmaceutical called Soma, and a culture of instant gratification and ubiquitous sex. Curious to explore life beyond the strictures of their society, the two New Worlders embark on a vacation to the Savage Lands, where they become embroiled in a harrowing and violent rebellion. Bernard and Lenina are rescued by John the Savage (Ehrenreich), who escapes with them back to New London.

The arrival of John, a subversive outsider, in the New World, threatens to disrupt the stability of New London’s utopian society.
