One of the best shows of the past decade that really delighted me was the anime adaptation of the Lovely Muco! manga. The show saw a simulcast run here but wasn’t one that was going to make the leap to home video because nobody buys shows about animals. Anyway, the manga from Takayuki Mizushina began back in 2011 and when the anime aired in 2016 there were nine volumes out. The latest installment of Evening magazine has revealed that the series will be ending in six chapters which means it’ll have seventeen volumes overall as the sixteenth just arrived this week.
If you ever get the opportunity to see the most recent TV series, give it a few episodes and then get into the groove of Muco’s life. It’s just wonderful and brings about much happiness.
The series is animated by DLE Inc, which handles a number of short-form shows. The main cast for the project includes Hitomi Yoshida, Satoshi Hino, Sumire Uesaka, Kaori Nazuka, Junji Majima, Yu Kobayashi, Keiji Fujiwara and Hiroki Takahashi.
Plot concept: The story depicts the life of the pet dog Muco and his owner Komatsu, who lives in his glass-making workshop in the mountains.
