Another older series of Sentai’s that didn’t have an existing trailer on their channel has surfaced with the addition of the Broken Blade property. The twelve-episode series aired beginning in 2014 and saw a TV edit and had an OVA that was canceled. The property still has its Blu-ray available directly from Sentai, meaning it’s under license still, and it’s streaming in its bilingual form on HIDIVE.

Check out our review of the property.

The project had Tetsuro Amino as the chief director and Nobuyoshi Habara as the directory. Daishiro Tanimura, Masashi Sogo, and Taishirou Tanimura worked on the screenplays for it with Takumi Norita working on the character designs. The animation production was handled by Production I.G. and Xebec.

The Japanese cast includes Chiwa Saito as Sigyn Erster, Hiroshi Kamiya as Zess, Sōichiro Hoshi as Rygart Arrow, Yūichi Nakamura as Hodr, Hideyuki Umezu as Elekt, Kana Hanazawa as Cleo Saburafu, Kenji Takahashi as Argass, Kousuke Toriumi as Girge, Marina Inoue as Narvi Stryze, Minoru Shiraishi as Nair Stryze, Tomoya Kawai as Logen G. Garf Ensance, and Yuko Kaida as Lee.

The English dub was directed by Steven Foster with a cast that includes Emily Neves as Sigyn Erster, Greg Ayres as Rygart Arrow, Leraldo Anzaldua as Zess, Andrew Love as Nile Stryze, Chris Hutchison as Bades, Corey Hartzog as Girge, David Wald as Io, Dylan Godwin as Nile Stryze, Jay Hickman as Borcuse, Kalob Martinez as Hodr, Maggie Flecknoe as Lee, Rob Mungle as Baldr, and Shelley Calene-Black as Narvi Stryza.

The series features the opening theme song “Junction Heart” by Sayaka Sasaki and the ending theme “Itoshiki Kōi yo, Michibike Hikari e” by Aira Yuki.

Plot concept: The inhabitants of the continent of Cruzon are born with the ability to freely control quartz. Technology based on this power allows them to perform a great multitude of tasks such as shoot projectiles and pilot mobile suits (called Golems in this society). Rygart Arrow is an un-sorcerer, a rare individual who is unable to levitate even the smallest crystal. Living with his brother at a farm, he receives a letter from an old friend, Hodr, the current king. Close companion of the king and queen when they were students at Assam Military School, Arrow is informed that a war is about to occur. Hodr called him because an ancient type of Golem has been found in a mining shaft. No one has been able to move it and Queen Sigyn, an expert engineer, suspects that maybe an un-sorcerer might be the key to activate it.
