The spring 2019 anime series Why the hell are you here, Teacher!? saw its home video release handled by Sentai Filmworks in North America back on May 26th, 2020. The distributor brought out the Blu-ray-only release that came with a rare o-card slipcover for it because the cover artwork underneath it for the case was naughty with some nudity. Which does, admittedly, make it hard to do a clean unboxing but the team here has done their best to do so in order to let you see the bulk of the packaging.

Check out our review of the series.

It’s directed by Hikaru Kaneko with Tear Studio handling the animation production. Kazuhiko Tamura worked on character designs.

The Japanese cast includes Shizuka Ishigami as Hikari Hazakura, Nozomi Yamamoto as Takashi Takahashi, Kazutomi Yamamoto as Chizuru Tachibana, and Yūsuke Kobayashi as Kō Tanaka.

The English dub has Kyle Jones as the ADR director. The English cast includes Austin Tindle as Ichiro Sato, Maggie Flecknoe as Kana Kojima, Amber Lee Connors as Chizuru Tachibana, Andrew Love as Rin Suzuki, Bryson Baugus as Takashi Takahashi, Howard Wang as Kō Tanaka, Melody Spade as Mayu Matsukaze, Monica Rial as Hikari Hazakura, Alyssa Marek as Rei Suzuki, Brittney Karbowski as Suzu Suzuki, Jackie Bernard as Saki Sato, Kalin Coates as Shio, Sam Butler as Student, and Sonja Meadow as Saya Matsukaze.

The manga from Soboru began in 2016 after having a series of one-shots prior to that. Five volumes are out as of the announcement.

Plot Concept: Ichiro Sato is about as average as a student can get? except for his above-average ability to land himself in totally awkward, intensely risque situations with his no-nonsense teacher, Kana Kojima! Ichiro has his hands full dealing with these steamy shenanigans and unexpected encounters in the most unlikely places. At least it can?t get any worse, right?
