The very end of 2019 brought the reveal that the Hortensia Saga property would be making the leap to the anime side as the game moved toward the multimedia approach with a manga as well. We haven’t had much in the way of details and just a couple of minor teasers. Now, the official site has updated to reveal that the series will be a part of the winter 2021 season come January and it’s brought out the staff and cast for it. We also have a promo for it but the YouTube version is region-locked, hence the Twitter version below.
The series is directed by Yasuto Nishikata based on the scripts overseen by Rintarou Ikeda. Takayuki Onoda is handling the character designs with LIDEN FILMS production the animation.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Yoshimasa Hosoya as Alfred Ober
- Yui Horie as Mariyus Casteledo
- Kenjiro Tsuda as Maurice Baudelaire
- Reina Ueda as Nonnoria Folley
- Aya Uchida as Kuu Morimol
- Yuichiro Umehara as Deflott Danowa
MY FIRST STORY is handling the opening theme song for the series.
Plot Concept: Hortensia Saga is a medieval fantasy tale of war and chaos. Three years ago the king was betrayed and murdered by one of his dukes who then built his own kingdom out of the ashes of the old. But now, the original heir to the throne has secretly come of age.
