Madman Schedules ‘How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?’ Anime Blu-ray Release

The summer 2019 anime adaptation of the manga series How much heavy dumbbells can you lift? is getting ready for some expanded distribution. Australian distributor Madman Entertainment has announced their plans to release it there with a September 2nd, 2020 debut where it’ll be a two-disc bilingual release priced at $64.95. It’ll be done with a commentary track for the third episode, the gym training material, promos, previews, and clean versions of the opening and closing sequence.

The series has Mitsue Yamazaki directing based on the scripts from Fumihiko Shimo. Ai Kikuchi worked on the character designs with Doga Kobo handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Ai Fairouz as Hibiki Sakura, Sora Amamiya as Akemi Soryuin, Shizuka Ishigame as Ayaka Uehara, Nao Toyama as Zina Void, Yui Horie as Satomi Tachibana, and Kaito Ishikawa plays Naruzō Machio.

The original manga comes from Yabako Sandrovich and MAAM has which began back in 2016 on the Ura Sunday manga site. This is the second adaptation of one of Sandrovich’s works as Kengan Ashura received one as well.

The series features the song “Onegai Muscle” by Ai Fairouz & Kaito Ishikawa and the closing song “Macho Anemu” by Kaito Ishikawa.

Plot Concept: Hibiki Sakura’s love for food is starting to affect her size. In effort to slim down, she scopes out her local gym only to discover two problems—it’s a haven for intimidating body builders, and her classmate Akemi has a weirdly aggressive muscle obsession. After meeting her handsome personal trainer, Machio, Hibiki bites the bullet and starts her quest for a hot bod!
