The debut of the Non Non Biyori: Vacation anime feature film that covers the Okinawa trip from the manga had itself a limited release that got underway on August 25th, 2018 debut. It was just a year ago that it landed in Japan on home video and recently the folks at Sentai Filmworks have announced their acquisition of the property. The film is set for a June 9th, 2020 debut – tomorrow! – and they’re celebrating by releasing a trailer for it to help promote it. The film is in its original Japanese language with English subtitles and includes the Japanese promos and TV spots as extras, priced at $29.99.
For those curious, last year saw its release with a limited edition that came with a storyboard, a 35mm filmstrip, a 32-page booklet with a new manga piece by Atto, a key art booklet, and on-disc features with trailers and promos along with an audio commentary. The regular editions just have the promos and commercials with the trailers. Check out the Japanese packaging below.
The first two series were directed by Shinya Kawatsura based on the overall composition by Reiko Yoshida who also wrote the scripts alongside Fumihiko Shimo and Yuka Yamada. Mai Otsuka served as the character design and the project was animated at Silver Link.

The anime is based on the manga by Atto that began in 2009 under Media Factory, which has eleven volumes so far. Seven Seas Entertainment has the North American license for the manga.
Plot concept: Even though there are still only five students who attend the remote Asahigaoka Branch School, each one of the girls already has a lifetime of wonderful experiences in the carefree Japanese countryside. Some memories may belong to just one person, like Hotaru’s recollections of her first day in Asahigaoka before she’d had a chance to meet her new friends. Other memories bring an otherwise sleepy town to life for Komari, Natsumi, Renge, or even Suguru.
