Surprisingly, ‘Show By Rock!!’ Anime Only Now Gets Its First Manga

Five years later, the first manga is scheduled.

With a couple of different pieces of the franchise for Show By Rock!! out as anime, CDs, and games, it feels weird that it’s only now that the property is getting a manga of some sort. Young Ace magazine has revealed that an adaptation based on the first series is in the works that will appear in the July 4th, 2020 installment of the magazine next month. It’s set to come from creator Takemaru Yokoshima.

The first TV series wass directed by Takahiro Ikezoe based on scripts by Touko Machida and character designs by Masaru Ohshiro. The series is being animated by Bones.

The series is based on the project by Sanrio that has had an iOS rhythm game out so far that stars Eri Inagawa, Sumire Uesaka and Ayane Sakura in the primary position. It also has other bands included in it, with more to be announced. The ones announced so far include Mamoru Miyano Shuzo, Ryota Ohsaka as Kai and Ayumu Murase as Riku and Megumi Han as Daru Dayu, Eriko Matsui as A and Saori Hayami as Un and Kishô Taniyama as Crow, Kouki Uchiyama as Aeon, Tetsuya Kakihara as Yaiba and Yoshimasa Hosoya as Rom. Criticrista includes Rina Hidaka as Logia, Ai Kayano as Tsukino, Rie Murakawa as Jacqueline and Hiromi Igarashi as Holmy.

Plot concept: Midi City is a musical haven again after the last onslaught of evil and ready to rock with a new concert. But the show turns dark when Dagger returns with someone called the Queen of Darkness! Swept from the real world, can Cyan and the girls of Plasmagica save Sound Planet once more? And don’t miss Show By Rock!! Short!! where your favorite bands appear cuter than ever in a series of shorts.
