With a home video release out back on April 12th, 2016, and a new edition out this summer, one of my favorite shows from the past couple of years has now been scheduled for a new streaming run with Tonari no Seki-Kun: The Master of Killing Time. This time it’s for its English-language dub cast for it. The series is set for a June 11th, 2020 debut where it’ll be available to HIDIVE viewers in the US, Canada, UK, Central America, South America, South Africa, Ireland, Scandinavia, Australia, and New Zealand.
The dub is directed by Brittany Deans and will star:
- Monica Rial as Rumi Yokoi
- Blake Shepard as Toshinari Seki
- Andrew Love as Adachi
- Vic Mignogna as Mr. Yellow Tie
- Corey Hartzog as Uzawa
- Jad Saxton as Tomako
- Caitlynn French as Sakura
- Carolyn Medrano as Naka
- David Wald as the Narrator
The series is based on the original work of Takuma Morishige and was directed by Yuji Muto, with character design by Masae Otake. Shinji Kawai (STUDIO UNI) acted as Art Director.
Plot concept: During class, a schoolboy named Seki-kun is always creating things to entertain himself. All he cares for is creating things with an artist’s level of perfectionism and a craftsman’s attention to detail. Real dominos, shogi with original rules, a flip book with sounds…
Even Yokoi-san, who sits next to Seki-kun, always gets sucked into watching his games!
