Sanrio revealed in August 2019 that a new project in the works that’s set to arrive in 2020 with an anime TV series revolving around the Mewkledreamy character. The show managed to get four episodes out before being shut down back in April but the official site has now revealed that they’re back on track for new episodes and will return to broadcast on May 31st, 2020 with the fifth episode. The show has also undergone a change as Chiaki Kon has departed as director with Hiroaki Sakurai taking it on.
Chiaki Kon directed the first four episodes before Hiroaki Sakura came on to direct it with JC Staff handling the anime adaptation, Hiroko Kanazuki is working on the series composition and Mai Furuki is on board with the character designs. Maria Sawada is handling both theme songs with opening “Mirai Kuru Kuru Yume Kururu!” and the ending “Tokimeki Collector.”

A manga debuted in two magazines in January from Kodansha.

Plot Concept: The story begins when a middle school girl named Yume sees something fall from the sky, and meets a pale violet-colored kitten named Mew. It turns out that Mew has the power of “Yume Synchro” (Dream Synchro), the power to enter dreams. In the dream world, the girl and Mew collect Dream Stones.
