Top 20 Manga Graphic Novels For April 2020

The folks at ICv2 have put together the NPD BookScan data for the month of April 2020 to see what was moving and grooving in the manga market, which includes not just bookstores but a lot of online distribution as well. Nut surprisingly, My Hero Academia is continuing to dominate as it takes up nine slots out of the top twenty. On the plus side, the series is drawing in people to manga and keeping them there so hopefully they’re trying other things. It also shows that a crossover property can come out of nowhere.

The other title doing really well is a one-off with Uzumaki, which ICv2 notes is starting to act like the evergreen title Watchmen on the superhero side in charting very, very, regularly.

This month has a number of new volumes for ongoing that chart such as One Piece and Tokyo Ghoul while the first volume of Beastars also charts for Viz. Kodansha Comics manages to claim one slot with the latest Attack on Titan.
