With the home video release for Parasyte -the maxim- out already through Sentai Filmworks, Netflix is looking to get some attention with the title as they previously scheduled it for a February 1st, 2020 debut on their service. That didn’t happen – something that’s occurred a couple of times with other titles recently – but they recently updated the page to reveal a May 15th, 2020 debut. That debut has hit and now we’ve got a look at the language options for it. The series comes with its original Japanese language (and marked as original) but also English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese language dubs. Subtitles include English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese tracks.

The series was directed by Kenichi Shimizu at Madhouse with series composition put together by Shoji Yonemura. Tadashi Hiamatsu handled the character designs for the series. The Japanese cast includes Nobunaga Shimazaki as Izumi, Aya Hirano as Migi, Kana Hanazawa as Satomi Murano, Miyuki Sawashiro as Kana Kimishima, Atsuko Tanaka as Ryoko Tamiya, Hiroyuki Yoshino as Uragami, Kiyono Yasuno as Yuko Tachikawa and Rena Maeda as Akiho Suzuki.
The series features the opening song “Let Me Hear” by Fear, and loathing in Las Vegas as well as the closing sequence song “It’s the Right Time” by Daichi Miura to check out.
Plot Concept: They’re the perfect killing machines, blending invisibly into human civilization by taking the form of their last victim. For Shinichi Izumi, infected with a deadly parasitic organism that’s determined to devour his brain and turn his body into the Earth’s new apex predator, they’re the ultimate nightmare. But instead of being consumed, Shinichi manages to partially foil the attack, leaving him with the parasyte known as Migi taking the place of his right hand. Now forced to share the same body, the two must become unwilling allies. Because Migi isn’t the only one of his kind, and unless they work together, they’ll both be killed as abominations.
