“Do You Know Social Media?”

What They Say:
Cute but rude! Tatami-chan is a crazy-cute heroine taking on the ghosts, spirits, and even humans residing in the Tokyo metropolitan area in the new Reiwa era! Oshikiri’s unique style is on full display in this thrilling horror-gag comedy, coming soon! This episode has Tatami heading to Karaoke Sound to experience what it’s like in the big city since they’re everywhere.

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
Tatami’s adjustment to the modern world hasn’t gone the best for her but now she’s being introduced to the worst part of it – social media. We get to see a couple of those from the complex on Instagram and the like and showing her their pictures and why they do it, which has her kind of undercutting them and why they do it but mostly just showing the vanity of it for many and how little it means to others. There’s some fun back and forth with it when you get down to it but the dialogue-heavy aspect of it with little really said for a lot of it, at least outside of the cutting way Tatami views the reasons why these characters are engaged with it, keeps it from being too interesting.

In Summary:
Tatami’s playful superior attitude is almost comical here as she cuts down the others pretty sharply so that they end up turning not just on each other but also themselves with the whole reason that they’re engaged in all of this. It builds well even it takes a bit of time and the freak-out is definitely amusing. As is the cute instagram-style image at the end with the filter. It’s a rare episode where it feels like Tatami-chan actually manages to come out on top.
