In the realm of “it should come as no surprise,” the editorial team at Weekly Shonen Jump updated their site and social media with a word of caution about the publication schedule of much of its manga, which could impact individual issue releases as well. We’ve seen numerous creators talking about how things are being done at a slower rate or not at all in order to avoid close contact and the spread of the Coronavirus. Like a lot of jobs, however, manga tends to involve a small group of people in a small space working for hours on end – which is in contrast to American comics which are widely done through teams spread around the world digitally.
With that in mind, and having seen many titles going on hiatus elsewhere, Shonen Jump is warning of delays for fans and that some of the events coming up for the summer are being canceled.
