The fall 2019 anime series originally had the title of The Denizens of Kabuki-chō that Production I.G. then revealed that it will go by the name of Kabukicho Sherlock. With the overseas pickups, the fall 2019 season that Funimation has been releasing under the title Case File nº221: Kabukicho. With the third set coming up in about a month on May 27th, 2020, Kadokawa has released another3 1/2 minute promo video bringing out a sample of the bonus CD with the set. This CD is a new audio drama piece so this extends the story of the cast in some fun ways for fans.
Kadokawa recently revealed through the official site that an OVA is set for an August 26th, 2020 debut where it’ll be about twenty-five minutes and be available on both DVD and Blu-ray. It looks to have six short stories on it plus audio commentary. The pilot movie will also be included.
Kadokawa began the home video release for this split-cour series which back on January 24th, 2020. The series will get four sets with six episodes each where the DVDs are priced at 16,000 yen each and the Blu-rays at 18,000 yen each. Check the full schedule below.

The show has Ai Yoshimura directing it with Taku Kishimoto handling the scripting side. Toshiyuki Yahai is on board with the character designs and Production I.G. on the anime production.
The previously announced Japanese cast includes Katsuyuki Konishi as Sherlock, Yūichi Nakamura as John H. Watson, Seiichirō Yamashita as James Moriarty, Sōma Saitō as Fuyuto Kyogoku, Nao Tōyama as Mary Morstan, Mariko Higashiuchi as Lucy Morstan, Yutaka Aoyama as Michel Belmont, Tatsumaru Tachibana as Toratarō Kobayashi, Seiichirō Yamashita as James Moriarty, and Junichi Suwabe as Mrs. Hudson.
The series features the opening and closing sequences “CAPTURE” by EGO-WRAPPIN’ and “Hyakuoku Kounen (百億光年)” by Lozareena respectively.
