3rd ‘My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU’ Anime Season Gets Summer Scheduling

2 min read
Time to wait a little longer.

The third season of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU was coming up as a part of the spring season with an April 9th, 2020 debut for it but the real world intruded on that. We’d seen Sentai Filmworks pick it up and even had HIDIVE get their announcement in place and had it scheduled for its streaming debut. Now, the Japanese site has revealed that the series has been formally shifted to the summer season and will get underway after the second season that’s currently airing in its place wraps up. No specific start date/time has been set yet.

The series has Kei Oikawa directing it once again with Keiichiro Ochi as the script supervisor for it. Yuichi Tanaka is on board as well once again for the character designer.

The Japanese cast include:

  • Takuya Eguchi as Hachiman Hikigaya
  • Saori Hayami as Yukino Yukinoshita
  • Nao Tōyama as Yui Yuigahama
  • Ayane Sakura as Iroha Isshiki

Check out our review of the series.

The opening theme song is “Megumi no Ame” as performed by Nagi Yanagi while voice actors Saori Hayami and Nao Toyama perform the ending theme song with “Diamond no Jundo.”

Plot Concept: Opposites may attract, but putting them together can result in chemical burns, electric shocks, and explosions. Enter Hachiman Hikigaya, a pessimistic high school student with no friends, no interest in making any, and the firm belief that everyone else’s cherished high school experiences are either delusions or outright lies.

Hachiman finds himself coerced by his well-meaning student advisor into joining the one-member Service Club. There he encounters club founder Yukino Yukinoshita, a smart, attractive, walking superiority complex who looks down on the entire student body. These two negative personalities are quick to attract Yui Yuigahama, who’s cute, bright, cheerful, and needs the Service Club’s help to… bake cookies? Is this a recipe for romance or the precursor for a nuclear meltdown? Will there be cookies, nookie, or a reason for everyone to play hooky?
