With twenty-two volumes of manga under its belt, the anime adaptation of the Kegan Ashura series is now getting its home video release. With it being streamed through Netflix, the solicitations from Pony Canyon indicate that it’s different from the “broadcast” version in terms of the master source material, which means it could just be a bit bloodier and more violent. The twenty-four episode series is getting done as four releases with six episodes per set that was scheduled to begin on May 20th, 2020. That’s now been bumped back a month to June 24th, 2020 and we’ve got a clean look at the cover artwork for it below. The DVDs are priced at 14,300 yen each while the Blu-rays are priced at 16,500 yen each. Check out the full schedule below.
Seiji Kishi directed it based on the series composition by Makoto Uezu. Kazuaki Morita is handling the character designs while Larx Entertainment is handling the animation production.
The original work comes from writer Yabako Sandrovich with artwork by Daromeon which began in Ura Sunday magazine back in 2012 and has been pretty popular there, including previously winning a fan vote contest to get an anime adaptation.
The production previously revealed that “King & Ashley” from MY FIRST STORY is setting the tone as the opening song while BAD HOP is performing with the song titled “Born This Way” being used.
