The smartphone game Ta ga Tame no Alchemist received a theatrical anime adaptation released as For Whom the Alchemist Exists. The film landed previously with a June 14th 2019 debut in Japan and now Bandai Visual has set the home video release plans. Originally scheduled for a May 27th, 2020 debut, the distributor has now put the kibosh on that as replication and distribution are slowing down or stopping entirely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The sets will now be rescheduled at a later time where it’ll have a regular edition priced at 6,800 yen and a limited edition available at select retailers priced at 10,000 yen. The limited-edition will have some item codes for the game, a 500-page storyboards book, the original soundtrack, a pamphlet version of the digital gallery, promos, commercials, and a cast and staff commentary all in one big box.

The regular edition will have some material for the game, promos, commercials, and the commentary.

The film has a screenplay by Toshizo Nemoto with character designs by Chikashi KAdekaru while Satelight is handling the animation production on it.

The Japanese cast includes Inori Minase as Kasumi Nagasaka as an original character while Ryota Ohsaka is reprising his role from the game. The cast also includes Ai Furihata, Natsuki Hanae, Kaito Ishikawa, Yui Horie, Hitomi Nabatame, Yūma Uchida, Asami Imai, Saori Hayami, Takuya Eguchi, Lynn, and Jun Fukuyama.

Game Concept: The game is set on the continent of Babel, where the Tower of Babel looms large over seven nations. After the invention of alchemy led to its use as a tool of war that brought humanity to the brink of extinction, the seven nations struck an uneasy peace that led to a prohibition on alchemy for hundreds of years since. In the Continental Year 911, the nation of Lustrice broke the pact by assembling an army bolstered by alchemy, with ambitions of conquest over the continent. Led by Envylia, the six nations allied and struck down the rogue nation, casting alchemy once again to darkness. But 20 years after the war, alchemy once again begins to cause chaos in the land.
