TOHO is digging into the past with this series as they’ve now scheduled a Japanese Blu-ray release for the Kyou Kara Ore Wa series from 1992. The complete Blu-ray set is scheduled for a July 15th, 2020 debut where it’ll be priced at 16,500 yen for all the OVAs that were produced. The ten-episode series will be spread across four discs and come with a booklet and a promotional video that was made for video stores. Amusingly, they note that the promo is upconverted from a VHS source as that’s all that exists for that promo anymore.

Based on the manga by Hiroyuki Nishimori, the series was directed by Takeshi Mori for the first episode and Masami Anno for the rest. Yukiyoshi Ohashi worked on the scripts for all of them while Masaya Onishi handle the character designs. Studio Pierrot worked on the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Hideyuki Hori as Ito, Yasunori Matsumoto as Mitsuhashi, Ai Orikasa as Kyoko, Akio Ohtsuka as Shiratori, Fumie Kusachi as Riko, Hideyuki Umezu as Mura-chan, and Kazuki Yao as Tanikawa.

Hiroyuki Nishimori’s manga for this began in 1989 and has thirty-eight volumes.  It inspired a new live-action film that’s out this year. His other works include Cheeky Angel, which was licensed by Viz Media and saw an anime adaptation as well, and several other manga series.

Plot Concept: This story follows the adventures of Takashi and Itou. At first they are enemies but soon become friends. They are may seem like normal students, but really aren’t all that normal. They are the two known trouble makers. They get into many fights with people.
