The fall 2019 original anime series Tokunana got a pickup by Funimation under the name Special 7: Special Crime Investigation Unit. Getting a little bit more promotion out there for the show, Funimation is now streaming the series on Hulu in bilingual form.  The simulcast was originally brought there at the same time but now the season is available in full with its dub as well, giving viewers their preferred choice for it.

Funimation is handling the simulcast for it and as well as a simuldub. Availability is set for the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

The series has Takayuki Kuriyama as the chief director and Harume Kosaka as the director working from the scripts by Yuichiro Higashide. Hiroya Iijima is adapting Nanane Chrono’s original character designs.

The Japanese cast includes Hiro Shimono as Seiji “Rookie” Nanatsuki, Kenjiro Tsuda as Shiori “Charisma” Ichinose, Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Kujaku “Analyzer” Nijō, Yuko Kaida as Akane “Samurai” Shikisai, Ari Ozawa as Bellemer “Ninja” Cinq, Kenji Nomura as Rokusuke “Sniper” Endō, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Sakon Zeroemon “Boss” Kiryūin, Hiroaki Hirata as Warlock, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Mysterious Man, and Nobunaga Shimazaki as Black Pearl.

The opening theme song is “Take On Fever” by OLCODEX while SCREEN mode is performing the ending theme song “One Wish” for it.

Plot Concept: Set in a different Tokyo on a different world than ours, the story follows Tokunana, a unit of assembled misfits in the Metropolitan Police Department. Tokunana battles against “Nine” — an organization committing crimes in their zealous worship of the dragons that once roamed the world.
