Sony Schedules & Names The ‘Venom’ Sequel

1 min read

The 2018 film for Venom from Sony Pictures was pretty derided online as not being something that was needed, especially with fans craving continuity with all the projects that Marvel has, but it landed in the fall on a $100 million budget and took in $856 million worldwide to make it a smashing success. Scheduled originally for an October 2nd, 2020 debut, Sony is spreading out some of its projects in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and has moved the film to June 25th, 2021 where there’s likely to be less of an issue by then (hopefully). In addition to giving us a new release date, we also now know that the film will be called Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

Directed by Andy Serkis based on the screenplay by Kelly Marcel, the film stars Tom Hardy, Woody Harrelson, Michelle Williams, Reid Scott, and Naomi Harris.

No trailers or promotional posters have been released for it yet.
