Kaede is getting ready for work. Dino is also getting ready to…go out!? That’s new! I guess dinosaurs can’t always be stuck watching the house. Kaede gives Dino a spare key to the apartment. Dino is super happy! But it’s not like she made a spare key for Dino or anything! She just so happened to have one already. Dino pictures a tearful goodbye between Kaede and her ex-boyfriend, haha. Dino has been watching too much television! Anyway, Kaede goes to work and we learn that she works at a nearby convenience store. A gal’s gotta make that money! It’s a slow start for work and there haven’t been any customers. Well, that is until Dino shows up! Dino’s rocking one of Kaede’s pink bags, too. Très chic! Dino is attracted to the smell of something delicious. What is it? Oden, of course! Dino ends up ordering some oden and keeps it simple. Kaede criticizes Dino for being so basic! Add in some spicy sausages or something! Dino is having none of that though. After the oden is bagged, Dino happily leaves. Naturally, Dino didn’t have any money so it’s coming out of Kaede’s paycheck. Oh well, it’s fine. Dino deserves to enjoy some delicious oden!
It’s time for some stop motion animation! In this scene, Dino is enjoying the oden he just got from the convenience store. It’s delicious! Is it possible for this oden to be any tastier? Dino gets an idea! How about adding some spicy sauce to it? Dinos runs to the kitchen to get some spicy sauce and puts it on the oden. To be more specific, Dino puts the entire tube of spicy sauce onto the oden. Before Dino can have a taste, the doorbell rings. Dino rushes to the door and is greeted by Kaede’s ex-boyfriend, Shouta. Dino gives Shouta the oden. He thanks Dino and digs in! The scene ends with Shouta making strange noises. I can only imagine that the oden tasted great and totally wasn’t too spicy.
We’re introduced to Kaede’s co-worker, Nanami Taguchi. She’s been working at the convenience store for the past year. She has a problem at the moment. What’s the problem? Kaede is reading magazines while on the clock! As her senpai, Nanami wants to tell her to stop and set a good example. However, gals are too scary! But you know what? No one is in the store right now so it should be fine! Probably. Nanami does find it odd though that Kaede is reading a magazine about dinosaurs. Why is she interested in dinosaurs? At that moment, Kaede asks her if she knows anything about dinosaurs. If anyone should know, it’s her! She goes to college and stuff. That must mean she’s smart! She doesn’t know much about dinosaurs, only that some eat plants while others eat meat. Of course! Kaede then points outside at Dino and asks her what she thinks that dinosaur eats. Nanami doesn’t know but remarks that she could probably look it up in the illustrated dinosaur encyclopedia at home. Thus, Kaede invites herself to Nanami’s home later that day! Her parents make them dinner. At first, everyone is nervous around Kaede. On the other hand, Kaede is having a great time! The food Nanammi’s parents made is delicious! She praises them and they immediately open up to her, haha. They can’t remember the last time their household was this bright and lively! I think they just indirectly dissed their daughter right there. Anywho, Kaede came here to look at that encyclopedia! She flips through all the pages and finds nothing about Dino! That’s a shame but at least she got to learn a little bit about Nanami. D’awww, that’s adorable. And that’s how Nanami became friends with her gal co-worker.
Another round of stop motion animation! In this scene, Dino is feeding animals at the park. He starts by feeding the birds. Then, Dino has to chase down a cat that stole the food! After that, Dino feeds the fish. Dino comes across a snake in a tree next and runs away! Boy, it sure is tiring feeding all these animals. Dino falls asleep on a bench. Dino wakes up to a peculiar scene. Dino is surrounded by animals and they’re eating all of the food! What will Dino eat now!?
Live-action time y’all! Kaede is bored and wants to go somewhere. What a coincidence, Dino feels the same way! But before they go anywhere, Kaede gives Dino a spare key! Hey, that’s how this episode started! But that’s where the similarities end. Dino goes to the roof and does a happy dance. Dino makes Kaede do the dance and they suddenly teleport to a park. Okay!? I didn’t realize that Dino could teleport. Then again, there are also time travelers on the loose so I shouldn’t be too surprised. Anyway, they didn’t even teleport to a nearby park. They teleported to a park near the ocean! Dino isn’t a big fan of the ocean. Dino watched a scary show about sharks! Kaede says it’s fine and tries to push Dino into the water. Dino is too scared though! Kaede settles for taking a selfie instead. While she sits down on a bench to post the picture on Instagram, Dino runs off. On a side note, those air horns are still hilarious. Dino ends up playing with some kids in the park. They think Dino is super cool! As a token of their appreciation, they give Dino…a Dino keychain!? Afterward, Kaede and Dino do some shopping. They buy some cod for dinner and try out some hats. Dino ends up getting a rad one! Once home, Kaede notices Dino’s keychain. Why does Dino get all the cool merch? Kaede wants a Kaede keychain, dangit! What a way to advertise Gal & Dino merchandise, haha. The episode ends with a creepy dude smiling while watching Kaede and Dino. I don’t know who this guy is but I can tell you one thing – it’s not Aoi Shouta.
In Summary:
I’m still enjoying this weird show. Although, I think it has lost a little bit of its allure. I believe that’s because I wasn’t ready for all the craziness in the first two episodes. Now, I’m fully prepared and expecting everything and anything. Nevertheless, I’m still having a fun time! I was hoping the live-action part of the episode would give us more insight regarding the time travelers. However, it gave us a normal day with nothing strange happening at all. Well, minus the teleporting. Or is teleporting normal in this world? I don’t know! What I do know is that there was a lack of Aoi Shouta. What’s he up? What’s the landlady time traveler up to? Who was that creepy guy at the end of the episode!? Why am I always left with so many questions at the end of each episode!?
