Free Stadia Pro starting right now.

COVID-19 (or the Coronavirus) has upended a lot of gaming for people.  Google decided to take charge for their games.  For those wanting more relief from the shelter in-home, Google will provide some entertainment relief. Phil Harrison the Vice President of Stadia announced that starting today, all of Stadia Pro will be free for two months.  Harrison said,

“We’re facing some of the most challenging times in recent memory. Keeping social distance is vital, but staying home for long periods can be difficult and feel isolating. Video games can be a valuable way to socialize with friends and family when you’re stuck at home, so we’re giving gamers in 14 countries free access to Stadia for two months.”

If you haven’t subscribed, you can get these two months for free starting today. If you’re already a Pro subscriber, you get two months free as well as they will not charge your account.  For those who want to game on Stadia, you can always buy the Stadia Bundle on the Google Store.  For some, however, it may not be feasible. The good news is if you don’t have a Stadia controller, you can also bring your own Playstation 4 or Xbox One controller for Stadia as well.

The perks of Stadia Pro will still hold over including the free games such as GRID and Destiny 2 as well as the 4K resolution setting. Once the 2 months are over, Google will charge you $9.99 before tax for Stadia Pro but you can cancel anytime.

We remarked that Stadia did well to run Doom Eternal, and if you’re willing to work out a couple of kinks, this opportunity is well worth taking up.
