As part of the 50th-anniversary(!!) of this property, the summer 2019 anime series Humanoid Monster Bem, also known just as BEM, previously set its home video release plans set. Happinet is handling distribution of it and they’ve set an April 24th, 2020 release date for the three-disc set which we now have a look at the box design for – which looks slick! It’ll include what looks to be the clean opening and closing with it and a booklet. The set will be priced at 26,800 yen upon release.
The new series has Yoshinori Odaka directing based on the scripts by Atsuhiro Tomioka. Masakazu Sunagawa is handling the character designs as they adapt Range Murata’s work. LandQ will be handling the animation.
The Japanese cast includes Maaya Uchida as Sonia Summers, Kenji Nomura as Joel Woods, Maaya Sakamoto as “Mysterious Lady”, Junichi Suwabe as Dr. Recycle, Sōma Saitō as Daryl Bryson, Kōtarō Nishiyama as Roddy Walker, and Daisuke Ono as Helmut Felt.
Maaya Sakamoto is handling the opening theme song with “Uchū no Kioku” while JUNNA will perform the ending theme song “Iruimi.”
