The winter and summer 2020 anime series A3! got underway normally back in January when it launched but by the time the fourth episode was supposed to hit we ended up with a couple of delays. Delays that kept increasing as we haven’t had a new episode since the third one landed. With all sorts of issues including potentially the COVID-19 coronavirus impacting things, we learned that the show was being pushed to the spring season. That season of the series will debut on April 6th, 2020 and that it will start against from the first episode and now we know what’s going on with the second cour. With all of that in mind since it originally got underway, the series has now gotten a new promotional video that gets us back into the right mindset with it.
Naturally, all home video releases will be re-solicited later and the planned summer season is likely to get bumped to the fall or even the winter depending.
The series will be directed by Keisuke Shinohara based on the series composition by Naoki Hayashi. Mariko Komatsu is handling the character designs and serving as the chief animation director with P.A. Works and Studio 3Hz handling the animation production.
The series features the opening theme song “Act! Addict! Actors!” by A3ders! and the ending theme song “HOME” by Spring.
Plot Concept: Mankai Company is a far cry from its glory days as an all-male theater. With only one member left and debt collectors at the door, it’s no wonder Izumi Tachibana finds herself in over her head when she boldly confronts the Yakuza’s loan sharks, promising to bring her father’s theater back into the spotlight. She might be able to recruit enough talent, but can they bloom into the actors she needs?
