TC Entertainment is going back for another show that has almost nothing out there on the English side that I can find out much about with Happyakuyacho Hyori no Kewaishi. The series is also known as 108 Ward Inside and Out: Make-Up Artist. The twenty-two episode series – which includes the six unbroadcast episodes – is set for a Blu-ray release on April 24th, 2020 and the cover artwork for it has been released, which definitely is… interesting. It’s priced at 20,000 yen and will be spread over two discs. The set looks to include a commentary of some sort and episode previews.
The series originally was broadcast in 1990 for two cour and was directed by Hiroshi Fukutomi based on the series composition by Bakushu Eto. Shin-Ei Animation handled the production. The Japanese cast includes Akira Kamiya, Akiho Sendo, Jun Hazumi, Naoki Tatsuta, Naoki Bando, Kiyoyuki Yanada, Asami Junko, and Midori Nakazawa. The property was created by the legendary Shotaro Ishinomori.
Plot Concept: Set in early 1900’s Tokyo, its story is about a makeup artist named Kosannba. All the women desire to have their make up done from Kosannba because he is the best. He also manages to get intertwined into the lives of many women and proceeds to work out their various problems.
