A complicated age for office romances…

Released as part of the April 2020 edition of Comic Kairakuten BEAST, Heart Guidance is a twenty-page book from Kakao. Though I had tried one of their manga about four years ago, it was something I got into a bit more recently thanks to an upcoming book release. So with some interest in their style and seeing some good design work not just for characters but settings, I couldn’t help but dive into another chapter when a new one presented itself. And especially as the tags put us into the workplace which means we’re avoiding the school side of things, something that I almost always consider a plus.

The story for this one puts us firmly in the office world where we’re introduced to Ema, a typical office lady who’s not bad at her job but makes a few mistakes and isn’t considered one of the best. But she’s also a delight to have around the office because she’s pretty well stacked and those work outfits really accentuate that. Ema’s got the hots for one of the guys that works there in Ryouma so when the opportunity to go to one of the sales guys’ homes for a party that Ryouma will be at, well, she’s all in on this. It’s not a big party but everyone has a good time, though Ema feels a bit down after hearing some criticism toward her by Ryouma. That in turn gets her to drink more in shame and… pass out.

This works in her favor, however, as she wakes up to Ryouma there, who thankfully hasn’t taken advantage of the situation. It’s not a lot of dialogue but he’s clear in his interest in her and she agrees to head off to a room with him. With Ema being a virgin, apparently, she’s nervous and he’s handling it decently if somewhat forcefully – at her request. The naked time between them is quite good as she’s incredibly aroused by him in general and the situation they’re in and they bring out the best in each other. It’s playful at first with some great artwork with the tease of clothes before it shifts gears into more intense material as she wants to get everything she can from him in case this is the only time. It’s really well illustrated with the angles used and including backgrounds as they can. There’s a good sense of urgency and need about it as well from both parties that ups the ante in making it even hotter.

In Summary
I’m definitely enjoying what Kakao puts to the page and this installment is a lot of fun. We’ve been to this company before so I’m glad to see more adventures within it with different characters since it’s fertile ground to be sure and provide the artist with some consistent things to work with. Ema’s cute enough to carry things forward here and get herself into the situation she wants and Ryouma, who is a bit of a cipher, is more than happy to help out. It’s a standard office party hookup between people that don’t know each other so I could go for more of it easily or just see more of the place itself and other staffers there. It’s really well illustrated with some strong background design included and great looking characters that delivers some hot action. Definitely an easy one to add to the late-night reading pile.
