This one is cute and fun in the right ways but also tasty and hot.

Slow and steady has its moments…

Originally serialized in Comic Kairakuten from the April 2020, Just a Moment is a sixteen-page story from creator Noise, who has just about a dozen other works on the service. had hit upon them previously while looking at random creators and at the time was one I hadn’t read before so that made it all fresh and new for me. I definitely enjoyed their work as the designs are really nicely done. This chapter serves as a prequel to the Only Now chapter that came out previously, which I haven’t read yet so I get to read it in chronological order. Noise’s designs are definitely the draw here once again and it makes for an enjoyable vanilla chapter.

The premise focuses on a young couple named Kanon and Kyoutarou. The pair are spending time at her place and have been dating for a few months now. Kanon’s problem is that Kyou is very slow on actually making a move at any given time and it’s taken her months to get him to be as good as he is now, which is still really problematic. He’s just sensitive to things such as Kanon’s younger sister Mion as he doesn’t want to get into anything while she’s around. Kanon’s making it clear that Mion’s off at a school event for a while and that Kyoutarou really needs to take advantage of that. But he’s just so hesitant that it’s almost incredibly frustrating as she takes off her sweater jacket and he’s still unable to really make a move on her. The flashbacks she has to the things he’s done in the past shows he’s capable but he’s just that nervous.

Thankfully, once he does realize that it’s all good, the two get down to some pretty enjoyable vanilla material. While some fans can’t deal with the simple stuff after a while, I continue to enjoy it when presented in a good relationship aspect like this. Kanon’s really enjoying her time with him and is turned on by him so the two have a really good experience. It’s slow and sensual, it has a solid feeling of a loving relationship being explored as they explore each other, and it really clicks well. Noise’s designs definitely help and there are some really great expressions we get out of Kanon that are not in the heat of the moment that are incredibly alluring. Of course, Mion shows up early and while she doesn’t interrupt it causes Kyoutarou to panic – and for Kanon to go firmly aggressive to get what she wants. It’s a great shift in energy and a really fun way to raise excitement.

In Summary
I’m still trying to get a handle on Noise as a creator but I’ve liked what I’ve seen so far and this one builds on that. The story is nicely done even if I would have liked a little more on their relationship explored, the designs are great, and the intimacy comes across very well. I enjoy a lot of vanilla stories focusing on couples because it’s basically romance novels writ short and hot. This one is cute and fun in the right ways but also tasty and hot. Definitely an easy recommendation.
