Trinity Seven Vol. #18 Manga Review

3 min read
It has taken 18 volumes for readers to finally see the reveal of the true Demon Lord. My impressions are mixed.

Does Arata have any chance at defeating an artificially created Demon Lord Candidate that’s just as powerful as he is, and has the ability to revive 100 times?!

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers):
With Lilith’s help, Arata manages to tap into and take for his own the power of a former Paladin. That is no small feat considering it’s the strongest magic level most beings can achieve. However, even with that, the artificial Demon Lord Candidate created by Libic could likely beat him. That being has the ability to transport his consciousness to a new body up to 100 times. Luckily for Arata, his ability to reach Paladin seems to pass a test for Libic and she admits that she is on his side.

While Arata and Lilith may be out of the woods for the moment, Arin, Levi, and Kazama find themselves facing the Demon Lord Commander, Farfarea. This Commander is a trickster with a similar fighting strength and perhaps more trickery than even Levi. Still, with the three of them, they should be able to defeat Farfarea as long as they are careful and work together. So why are they quickly losing against his power? What trickery or skill is he using that they can’t see?

While the members of Trinity Seven are fighting for their lives, many of the Demon Lord Commanders have discovered Arbariccia’s betrayal. She and Farfarea split the true Demon Lord into three beings and have control of two of them. Rubine refuses to stand by and let this stand and lashes out immediately. However, Arbariccia has nearly thought of every possible scenario in preparing for her coup d’etat. She uses a dastardly attack on Rubine that may provide the ultimate victory over the most powerful Demon Lord Commander!

In Summary:
It has taken 18 volumes for readers to finally see the reveal of the true Demon Lord. My impressions are mixed. On one hand, the three parts of the split Demon Lord’s being are strong but not overwhelming. Also disappointed that he could be undone by a couple of his underlings. On the other hand, if I consider how powerful he would be if all three parts of him were combined into his original form and strength, I’m very impressed. Seems like this may not only be the final boss for Arata, but likely an unwinnable situation for the young magician. I might have just stayed home and enjoyed my harem if I were Arata.
