‘Nakitai Watashi wa Neko o Kaburu’ Anime Feature Film Cast Expands

Studio Colorido has their second original anime film now on the schedule with Nakitai Watashi wa Neko o Kaburu, which translates as Wanting to Cry, I Pretend to Be a Cat. The film is set for a June 5th, 2020 debut in Japan and is directed by Junichi Sato and Tomotaka Shibayama based on the screenplay by Mari Okada. A new round of casting has been announced for the project with half a dozen actors now getting roles confirmed with:

  • Minako Kotobuki as Yoriko Fukase
  • Kensho Ono as Masamichi Isami
  • Susumu Chiba as Yōji Sasaki
  • Ayako Kawasumi as Kaoru Mizutani
  • Sayaka Ohara as Miki Saitō
  • Daisuke Namikawa as Tomoya Sakaguchi

The previously announced Japanese cast includes:

  • Mirai Shidaas Miyo and Tarō
  • Natsuki Hanae as Kento
  • Kōichi Yamadera as Cat Storekeeper
  • Hiroaki Ogi as Homeroom Teacher Kusugi-sensei

Plot Concept: The film is finding one’s true self is set in Tokoname, Aichi and centers on Miyo “Muge” Sasaki. She is a peculiar second-year junior high student who has fallen in love with her classmate Kento Hinode. Muge resolutely pursues Kento every day, but he takes no notice of her. Nevertheless, while carrying a secret she can tell no one, Muge continues to pursue Kento. Muge discovers a magic mask that allows her to transform into a cat named Tarō. The magic lets Muge get close to Kento, but eventually it may also make her unable to transform back to a human.
