The winter 2020 anime adaptation of Arata Aki’s work Boku no Tonari ni Ankoku Hankaishin ga Imasu saw streaming release as A Destructive God Sits Next to Me. Toei is handling the home video release for the show and they’ve set a standard schedule. The series is getting a four-volume Blu-ray release priced at 9,000 yen per volume as well as a four-volume DVD release priced at 8,000 yen per volume, both of which began on March 11th, 2020. With the first volume out, the second and third volumes have now been released as well. Check out the schedule below for the Blu-ray release details.

It’s set to be directed by Atsushi Nigorikawa based on the series composition by Natsuko Takahashi. Yuuki Nakano is working on the character designs with EMT ² handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast, which has those that participated in the 2016 drama CD, are reprising their parts that include Jun Fukuyama as Seri Koyuki, Takahiro Sakurai as Kabuto Hanatori, Ryohei Kimura as Utsugi Tsukimiya, Tsubasa Yonaga as Hibiki Kimya, Shinnosuke Tachibana as Kimikage Mogami, Kousuke Toriumi as Shikimi Tokimune, Ai Kayano as Kotoko Sumiso, Yoshiko Ikuta as Suzuran Mogami, Toshiki Masuda as Aitsu, Takayuki Kondou as a homeroom teacher, and Chinatsu Akasaki as Cerberus.

The series features the opening theme song “Take mo’ Chance” by all at once while also showing off the ending theme song “Freedom de Muda ni Muteki!!” by AOP.

Arata Aki has had a few manga works prior to this including The Beautiful Skies of Houou High series that Digital Manga Publishing licensed.

Plot Concept: High school student Koyuki Seri has a disposition for whipping out witty retorts… but hates people who wait for those retorts! Much to his dismay, he had caught the eye of Hanatori Kabuto, who suffers from a terrible case of delusions of grandeur and everything about him could warrant a retort. Seri swears that he will never utter a retort about Kabuto, but he just can’t hold back. Not to mention, there seem to be even more strange people gathering around him… A high school boys’ comedy that’ll make you laugh and laugh (but can also be cute at times) is about to start!
