Young guitarist and singer Howan dreams of leaving her small village to be a famous musician. She travels to the city and meets the talented guitarist, Mashima. Along with shy Delmin, and sweet Ruhuyu, they form the all-girls rock band, Mashumairesh. Now they face their first big contender in the rival male group DOKONJOFINGER. It’s time for some glitter and rock and roll!

It’s an important day for Mashumairesh! It’s a shame that Howan and Himeko overslept! Perhaps they shouldn’t have been talking all night. But they’re not the only ones that overslept! Ruhuyu and Delmin also overslept. What a coincidence! We already know why Himeko and Howan overslept, but what about Ruhuyu and Delmin? Ruhuyu spent the night putting her delusions onto paper. On the other hand, Delmin spent the night making matching charms for everyone. D’awww, that’s adorable. Ruhuyu feels embarrassed about her reason for oversleeping, haha. Anyway, they make to make it to the venue in fifteen minutes or they won’t be able to register. That means they can’t perform at the Midi Rock Festival. Hurry it up, girls!
Currently, Dokofin is tearing it up at the Under North Zawa stage. We don’t get to see their entire performance but rather bits and pieces. I really hope this isn’t a sign of things to come. I want full performances, dangit! Back to Mashumairesh, Howan realizes she left her guitar at the studio! Himeko goes on ahead and Howan rushes to get her guitar. When she gets there, Howan is told that her guitar was accidentally sent off with the repairman. Luckily, the repairman’s van is still outside and she manages to grab her guitar from the back. Unfortunately, she’s also locked in. Quite the predicament, huh? Meanwhile, Himeko bumps into Delmin as they’re both running to the venue. They make it there only to find out that REIJINGSIGNAL has started to perform. Oh no, are they too late? Nah, they’re fine. Ruhuyu already registered them. Clutch! Himeko and Delmin give her a lunatic thank you. Now, all that’s missing is Howan…
She’s still stuck in the back of the van. On a side note, the repairman is rocking to REIJING’s song on the radio. Howan decides to get his attention by playing her guitar loudly. It gets the job done and she’s finally let out! Now, how does she get to the venue? She’s terrible with directions. Well, this isn’t looking good. At the Under North Zawa stage, the other girls are worried about Howan. Should they call her phone? Himeko comments that she left it at home. That’s unfortunate. How do they get in contact with her? Ruhuyu decides to run outside and just scream her name out loudly. I appreciate the enthusiasm but I don’t think that’s going to work! Howan is definitely lost. To make matters worse, she’s also being arrested!? She begs the cop to take her to the festival. Her friends are counting on her! He understands what she’s saying but…he also doesn’t know where the venue is, haha. At that moment, Delmin fires off a large beam straight into the sky. Okay, now she knows where to go! The cop tells her to get in and they hightail it. A few moments later, Howan arrives at the venue safely!
Everyone is finally here! It’s a good thing too because they’re scheduled to perform in ten minutes. REIJING’s performance is coming to an end. By the way, we didn’t get any full performances from them either. Why does this show like toying with me? Backstage, Delmin gives everyone the matching charms she made last night. Again, adorable. Everyone is really happy to be here together. They’re planning on making the best memories! In particular, Himeko is really glad that she met everyone. In fact, she thinks that all four of them meeting was a miracle! The others tell her that what she said was super embarrassing and they tease her a bit, haha. Himeko starts blushing like crazy. But that’s enough joking around! They’ve got a song to perform. LET’S! FRESH! NEW FACE! MASHUMAIRESH!!
Finally, we get a full performance! It’s about dang time. Mashumairesh performs their new song and it’s actually quite nice. I am a fan. Back in Howan’s hometown, her family is watching their performance on the television and cheering her on, especially grandma! Dokofin is also watching their performance and they think they’re pretty rockin’. Of course, REIJING is also paying close attention. Rararin feels nostalgic watching them play. Even though she dismissed it previously, you can tell she admires Mashumairesh for just having fun while playing. She hopes that their paths will cross again someday. After their performance, Mashmairesh gets a massive round of applause.
One week goes by and the girls are eating at their favorite food joint while listening to REIJINGSIGNAL Night. Himeko, Howan, and Ruhuyu want to know what Delmin used to make their charms. They have a mysterious color to them! She reveals that she made them using some of her grandfather’s horn. That’s…interesting. Elsewhere, the Dokofin boys are having a spicy hot pot on the school roof. Sure, why not? It turns out to be too spicy though and they all pass out! Back to Mashumairesh, they’re all itching to perform again! They decide to put on a street concert. As she’s leaving, Himeko tells her uncle that being in a band is pretty crazy, right? It sure is! I’m glad Himeko is smiling more. Outside, Howan bumps into CYAN FROM PLASMAGICA!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! SHE FINALLY MADE A CAMEO AND IT’S IN THE LAST EPISODE! WHY COULDN’T THEY HAVE DONE THIS EARLIER!?!?!? Sorry about that. Cyan and Howan both point out they’re in a band and they both remark that it’s totally fun! Yeah, these two are on the same wavelength. Cyan is in a hurry though and takes off. The episode ends with Mashumairesh performing the show’s opening theme song at their street concert. I think that was a nice way to end the season.
In Summary:
Can you believe they waited until the last episode to give us a Cyan cameo!?!? Anyway, this was a fun final episode but it wasn’t everything that I was hoping for. I really wanted it to focus on the showdown between REIJINGSIGNAL and Mashumairesh. Sadly, the episode didn’t go in that direction. I’m still very disappointed that we didn’t get full performances for Dokofin or REIJING either. Instead, the focus was solely on Mashumairesh’s performance and how much fun they have playing together. And you know what? That’s fine. At least they got a full performance! And I’ll admit, their new song was nice. I’ll also admit that I may have placed unreasonably high expectations on this show because of how much I loved the original Show by Rock!! series. That being said, this was still a fun season. Not great, but not bad. In other news, it was announced at the end of this episode that there’s going to be another season of this series entitled Show by Rock!! Stars!! From what I can tell, it’s going to feature all the bands from this Mashumairesh season and the original series! Well, you just won me over again, Show by Rock!! You have my attention.
