With a mobile game out in summer 2017 in Japan, the anime adaptation of the Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine property has come and gone with both its broadcast in Japan and its home video release there. Sentai Filmworks revealed their pickup of the series as Cinderella Nine back at the end of December and have it scheduled for an April 14th, 2020 debut on Blu-ray. Now, another phase of it is coming that flew a bit under the radar amid all the general chaos these days; HIDIVE has confirmed that they’ll be streaming the series. The service has set a March 31st, 2020 debut date for it where it’ll be in Japanese with English, Portuguese, and Spanish subtitles for it. Availaiblity is solid as it’s open to viewers in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Latin America, Spain, Portugal, and Nordic countries.

Susumu Kudo is directing the series based on the series composition by Jin Tanaka. Takayuki Noguchi is on board to handle the character designs and TMS Entertainment is working on the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Nozomi Nishida as Tsubasa Arihara, Reina Kondo as Ryō Shinonome, Saki Minami as Yūki Nozaki, Honoka Inoue as Tomoe Kawakita, Yumiri Hanamori as Akane Ukita, Yurika Takagi as Ayaka Nakano, Nanami Yamashita as Yoshimi Iwaki, Iori Saeki as Maiko Kurashiki, Haruka Shiraishi as Kana Tsukumo, Sarara Yashima as Maria Hase, Rika Tachibana as Aoi Asada, and Eriko Nakamura as Momoko Kakehashi.

The game itself is fairly straightforward as an all-girls team is put together where the player learns about each of the girls and works their stories and competes with them by setting the batting order.

A manga is currently being produced of the four-panel variety by Bkub Okawa.

Plot Concept: Tsubasa Arihara loves baseball so much, she actually started her high school’s baseball club! But passion alone won’t keep a club alive, so it’s up to her to recruit as many all-star players as she can. Some potential recruits have never played before while others have returned to the game thanks to Tsubasa’s love for the sport, and together they’ll form a team united in love for the game as much as their growing friendship. But whether they win or lose, one thing is for sure: every game they play together is sure to be a home run!
