The Psycho-Pass series last year had a new three-part theatrical series being released and we saw TOHO bringing out the original seasons in a new “Smart Edition” release. The third season was done as an eight-part run that got underway back at the end of October and now we’ve got the film version of it ready to roll out. It’s set Amazon Prime Video streaming worldwide which coincides with the theatrical run in Japan that’s set for a March 27th, 2020 debut. Check out the newly released trailer for it below.
The plan is for Naoyoshi Shiotani to direct again with Akira Amano coming back as the character designer, all with Production I.G. on board for the animation.
The Japanese cast includes Yuuki Kaji as Arata Shindo, Yuichi Nakamura as Kei Mikhail Ignatov, Takahiro Sakurai as Sho Honakawa, Akio Ohtsuka as Temma Todoroki, Junichi Suwabe as Kazumichi Irie, Kaori Nazuka as Mao Kisaragi, Ayane Sakura as Mika Shimotsuki, and Miyuki Sawashiro as Shion Karanomori.
Plot concept: In the future, even just thinking about a crime is enough to make you guilty – and justice is dispensed from the barrel of a gun. Detectives work in teams made up of Enforcers and Inspectors. Enforcers take out the bad guys, and Inspectors make sure their partners don’t cross the fine line between good and evil. The great equalizer in the war against thugs is the Dominator, a futuristic weapon that can read minds and assess the probability that a citizen will turn criminal. There are no trials. Only Enforcers, Inspectors, and the Dominator. Commit a crime in your mind – and the Dominator will make sure you pay the ultimate price.
