Fans of Mari Yamazaki, who put out some really strong works with Thermae Romae several years ago, has been working through her latest project with Olympia Kyklos. The series is set for an April 2020 debut on Tokyo MX as shorts as directed by Ryo Fujii and now a new promo has landed that has detailed it a bit more. It turns out that Fujii is also supervising the scripts and working on them with Atsushi Tsuboi and Takeshi Takemura.

The cast so far includes:

  • Jin Katagiri as the head of the village where Demetrios lives
  • Daisuke Ono as Demetrios, the protagonist
  • Takashi Satō as Professor Iwatani, the man who helps Demetrios after he travels through time

The manga began in 2018 (see the promo for it below from then) as serialized in Grand Jump magazine. Three volumes are out so far in Japan.

Plot Concept:  Demetrios, a timid and kind vase painter in Ancient Greece, who dislikes sports and competitions, is one day forced to come up with a game to compete with the mayor of the neighboring town, in order to save his village. While hiding inside a large vase outside his workshop, lightning strikes the vase Demetrios is in, transferring him to Tokyo, Japan, during the 1964 Summer Olympics.
