The winter 2018 anime series Katana Maidens – Toji no Miko was followed-up with some short-form material and in December Square Enix revealed that the game will be spawning a new OVA to continue on a bit more of the character’s lives. We haven’t had any new information since then but now Crunchyroll has revealed that they’re co-producing the project as Katana Maidens – Tomoshibi. The OVA is based on the game which means new characters and that allows for some changes.
The new project will be directed by Tomohiro Kamitani based on the series composition by Aoi Akashiro. Daisuke Niitsuma is handling the character designs and project No.9 on animation production.
The Japanese cast includes:

- Akane Fujita as Kiyoka Musumi
- Manami Numakura as Miruya Kitora
