The short-form winter 2016 anime series She and Her Cat as part of the Ultra Super Anime Time block is finally getting a North American home video release. Scheduled for a May 26th, 2020 release date from Discotek Media, the set will be priced at $24.95. The 32-minute series of shorts will be bilingual in form with no extras listed for it at the moment.
Extras for the Japanese release include the promotional video, storyboard gallery and a twenty-page booklet.
The dub was produced by Kocha Sound and they’ve got a sample of the project below in Tweet form. Brittany Lauda served as the ADR director with Matt Shipman. Shipman also worked on the script for it. The main cast includes Micah Solusod as Daru and Madeleine Morris as Miyu. The supporting cast includes Colleen Clinkenbeard as Miyu’s Mother, Madeleine Morris as Young Miyu, Brittany Lauda as Tomoka, Brittany Lauda as Young Tomoka, and Matt Shipman as Chobi.

The short series is being directed by Kazuya Sakamoto at LIDEN FILMS working off of scripts by Naruki Nagakawa. Character designs are being handled by Senbon Umishima, who is also serving as the chief animation director.
Plot concept: Daru lives together with her in a small apartment. Every day, he watches her rise in the morning, go out, and come home after the sun has set. Though they can’t talk to one another, Daru doesn’t need words to see the change in her when her friend moves out.
For you see, Daru is her cat, and our pets understand us on a deeper level than we can ever know. She and Her Cat is a touching short series that explores this relationship, based on a film created by famous director Makoto Shinkai (Your Name). Remember to cherish your pets!
