TC Entertainment Sets ‘Samurai Giants’ Blu-ray Anime Collection

The TC Entertainment collection grows as this time they’re dipping way back to 1973 for the baseball series Samurai Giants. Planned for a May 29th, 2020 release, it’ll include the main 46-episode run priced at 26,000 yen. The series is supposed to be working from a new HD telecine from negative film masters. The two-disc set will include the clean opening and closing sequences as extras.

The series was directed by Tadao Nagahama based on the original story by Ikki Kajiwara and Ko Inoue from their manga. Yasuo Otsuka worked on the character designs and Tokyo Movie Shinsha handled the animation production.

Plot Concept: Ban Banjou is an insolent wild boy who was raised on the rough sea in Tosa, southern Japan. He joined the Tokyo Yomiuri Giants in Japanese pro baseball league such a baseball pitcher noted for the blazing fastball and the worst control. He fights hard battles against his rival batters, developing his incredible pitching magics.
