The winter 2020 anime adaptation of the manga series Oshi ga Budōkan Ittekuretara Shinu from Auri Hirao is underway as If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die. Funimation has been moving right along with both simulcast and simuldub but the dub side hasn’t gotten that much attention with this being the first clip from it I believe. Clocking in at just about 90-seconds, we learn how a comical mishap means Maina will never see all of Eri’s messages for her!

Availability for it is set for viewers in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

The project has Yusuke Yamamoto directing with series composition handled by Deko Akao. Tomoyuki Shitaya and Masaru Yonezawa are handling the character designs while the animation is being produced at 8-Bit.

The previous casting announced was Ai Fairouz as Eripiyo. The new additions include Tomoaki Maeno as Kumasa, Yoshitaka Yamaya as Motoi, Kana Ichinose as Reina, and Hina Tachibana as Maina Ichii.

The series kicked off in 2015 and has five volumes out as of this month in Japan.

The series features the opening sequence with the song “Clover wish” by ChamJam and the ending theme song sequence “Momoiro Kataomoi (♡桃色片想い♡)” by Eripiyo (CV: Ai Fairouz)

Plot Concept: The Series focuses on a woman called “Eripiyo,” who is an extreme idol fan. She is wildly enthusiastic about Maina, the shy and lowest-ranking member of the minor underground idol group Cham Jam that performs in Okayama Prefecture. She gets so wrapped up in her love for Maina during a particular performance, that she has a major nosebleed. Eri will continue to give her complete devotion to Maina until the day she can perform at Budōkan (a major performing venue in Tokyo).
