Funimation Schedules ‘Koisuru Asteroid’ Anime Simuldub Premiere

The winter 2020 anime adaptation of the Koisuru Asteroid series from Quro recently found a second simulcast home with Funimation. Now, they’ve added the show to their list of simuldubs that they’re working on and intend to bring out the first two episodes this Friday with two episodes per week until they get caught up, as we are closing in on the end of the main season itself. No cast or production information was released with the announcement.

The streaming service brought it online this morning with availability set for the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Crunchyroll picked up the series originally on December 30th, 2019 and set their availability for the show with North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the Middle East.

Daisuke Hiramaki directed it based on the series composition and scripts by Yuka Yamada. Jun Yamazaki worked on the character designs with Doga Kobo handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Tomoyo Takayanagi as Mira Konohata, Megumi Yamaguchi as Ao Manaka, Maria Sashide as Mai Inose, Nao Tōyama as Mikage Sakurai, and Sumire Uesaka as Mari Morino.

The opening theme song is “Aruiteikō!” by Nao Tōyama while the ending theme song “Yozora” by Minori Suzuki.

The property began in 2017 in the magazine and has two volumes released so far as it’s a four-panel work.

Plot Concept: The series focuses on Mira, who a girl who dreams of joining the astronomy club once she got into high school, after meeting a man and promising to discover new asteroids when she was younger. But the high school she got into had abolished its astronomy club the year before she enrolled, and it has now been combined with the earth sciences club.
