The summer 2019 anime series Given was a part of the Noitamina block on Fuji TV and we learned not long after that a feature film was coming. Updates came in over the last few months to set it for this spring and now the official site has updated again. With a May 16th, 2020 debut set previously, we now have a new 30-second teaser for it that showcase the animation quality quite well and just the general thematic elements that fans are craving from it.

The show has Hikaru Yamaguchi directing based on the scripts overseen by Yuniko Ayana. Studio Lerche is handling the animation production for it.

The Japanese cast includes Shougo Yano as Mafuyu Sato (guitarist and vocalist), Yūma Uchida as Ritsuka Uenoyama (guitarist), Masatomo Nakazawa as Haruki Nakayama (bassist), and Takuya Eguchi as Akihiko Kaji (drummer).

The series is based on the manga by Natsuki Kizu which is serialized in Cheri+ magazine. It began in December 2017 and has five volumes out as of April 2019.

centimillimental will be performing the theme song for it.

Plot Concept: Somehow, the guitar that he used to love to play and the basketball games that he found so fun just lost their appeal…

That was until Ritsuka Uenoyama randomly met Mafuyu Sato. Ritsuka had started losing his passion for music in his everyday life, but then he hears Mafuyu sing for the first time. The song resonates with his heart and the distance between them starts to change.
