A story about Yabe's real-life experiences with his landlady

The NHK network is going to get something cute coming up next month as they’ll be broadcasting the short-form anime adaptation of Oya-san to Boku. Otherwise known as Landlady and Me, it’s based on the essay manga by Taro Yabe. This one is being done a bit differently in that the five-minute episodes will run nightly for a week, five nights in total, for the whole run.

It’s being directed by Hazumu Sakuta at Fanworks with Toru Hosokawa handling the scripts.

The Japanese cast includes Shusaku Kamikawa as the man and Naoko Watanabe as the landlady.

The two volumes of the manga have over 1.2 million copies in print so far since beginning in 2016.

Plot Concept: The manga is based on Yabe’s real-life experiences with his landlady.
