The winter 2020 anime adaptation of Iro Aida’s manga series Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun is getting its home video releases handled by Pony Canyon and they’ve gone for a short release plan. The twelve-episode series is being released as two sets of six episodes each beginning on April 22nd, 2020 and ending on June 24th, 2020. The DVD sets are priced at 16,000 yen each while the Blu-ray sets are priced at 18,000 yen each. Check the details below.
The series has Masaomi Andou directing based on the series composition by Yasuhiro Nakanishi. Mayuki Itou is on board with the character designs while Lerche will be producing the animation.
The Japanese cast includes Megumi Ogata as Hanako-kun, Akari Kitō as Nene Yashiro, Shōya Chiba as Kou Minamoto, Yūma Uchida as Teru Minamoto, and Minako Sato as Aoi Akane.
The series features the opening sequence with the song “No.7” by Jibaku Shounen Band (Youji Ikuta from PENGUIN RESEARCH x Masayoshi Ooishi x ZiNG) as well as the ending theme song “Tiny Light” by Akari Kitou.
It’s known as Jibaku Shōnen Hanako-kun in Japan and began in the magazine in 2014 and has ten volumes out as of the end of this month in Japan. It’s been getting released digitally in English by Yen Press who has the first nine volumes available so far.
Plot Concept: “Hanako-san, Hanako-san…are you there?”
At Kamome Academy, rumors abound about the school’s Seven Mysteries, one of which is Hanako-san. Said to occupy the third stall of the third floor girls’ bathroom in the old school building, Hanako-san grants any wish when summoned. Nene Yashiro, an occult-loving high school girl who dreams of romance, ventures into this haunted bathroom…but the Hanako-san she meets there is nothing like she imagined!
