‘Motto! Majime ni Fumajime Kaiketsu Zorori’ Anime Premiere Scheduled

We learned in the fall of 2019 that a new Kaiketsu Zorori anime series is in the works for the spring 2020 season with Motto! Majime ni Fumajime Kaiketsu Zorori, which is translated as More! Seriously Unserious Incredible Zorori. The official site has updated to reveal an April 5th, 2020 premiere on NHK Educational at a plum 7:00 pm evening slot.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Kōichi Yamadera as Zorori
  • Rikako Aikawa as Ishishi
  • Motoko Kumai as Noshishi
  • Yuuki Kaji as Beat

The series is directed by Takahide Ogata based on the series composition by Atsuhiro Tomioka. Hideyuki Funakoshi is working on the character designs with animation production handled by Ajia-do and Bandai Namco Pictures.

Based on the books that began in 1987, there are some 65 books since then with multiple films and movies over the years.

Plot Concept: Hara’s books follow Zorori, a mischievous bandit fox who dreams of becoming the “King of Pranks.” Zorori aims to “build my own castle and make a beautiful princess my wife,” and he embarks on one misadventure after another with his two boar companions Ishishi and Noshishi.
